QuickBooks requires some files to be registered before it installs in your system. If it fails to register, it leads to QuickBooks error 1904, which appears with the alert notification on your screen and the file pathname. Several reasons contribute to error 1904, such as company file is damaged or corrupted, the system is not rebooted after upgrading, or due to a damaged MS visual C++. Follow the instructions below to fix QuickBooks error code 1904.
1. The first solution is to download, install, and run the QuickBooks install diagnostic tool. You can get it from the Intuit Inc website. The process of downloading and installing is simple, all you need to do is follow the instructions on the screen.
2. The next solution is activating the built-in or hidden administrator. You will need to open the run dialogue box (press Windows+R), type CMD and hit enter. Now you can right-click on the CMD/command prompt/CMD.exe and click run as administrator. The next window opens, here you will have to enter “net user administrator/active: yes” and then click ok.
3. If you are having a bit defender installed in your system, then add C:\program files\common files or C:\program files\Intuit to the bit defender exclusion list.
