Koi Tu: The Centre for Informed Futures at Auckland University have provided this great document on moving NZ towards a sustainable future, including how to frame a vision and action plan for all New Zealand. What do you think?

What I think is that this report while well-intentioned treats a sustainable future as an environmental issue. The words try to talk about holistic response, but the details talk about the natural environment as if it was separate, somehow, from the economy. What is lost in all the nice words is that climate change is an existential threat. There is no sense of urgency imparted.
The report talks of a national consensus on what to do. I agree this would be desirable. However, what is really needed is leadership. We would never have dealt to Covid-19 if we had taken the approach proposed in this report. And we will not deal to climate change in an environment where there are so many conflicting interests and disinformation is so easy to spread.
